THE HANLON FAMILY
Jodi and I intentionally moved to this community for the schools in 1990. Jodi led Battle of the Books at Pleasant Hill, served as the Monroe band secretary, and we both served at Falcon Band Parents from 2012 to 2019, including board treasurer for five years. We thank our children’s teachers and teams at Pleasant Hill, Monroe, and Wheaton North for their partnership.

quinn & Abi
Quinn graduated from Indiana University as an ROTC cadet and is now a Captain actively serving in the US Army living with his wife Dr. Abi Thompson in Georgia.
Sydney
Sydney graduated from the University of Cincinnati and is now a middle school music teacher at Kettering Middle School in Ohio.
eight years of board service
Our schools hold a special place in my heart, and I’m so proud of the incredible teachers, staff, volunteers, and partners who make this district such a wonderful community to raise a family.
My priorities are 100% aligned with our Vision 2026 Portrait of a Graduate. We need to continue this work and appreciate that they are interconnected. Adjusting one strategic priority impacts student outcomes across the other priorities.
Serving and investing in our schools has been a great honor, and I’m eager to continue working together to make a difference.

Uncompromising focus on students
Every decision – investment, strategy, or policy – centers on student growth and success. Students are complex learning individuals, and our system must prepare all for life beyond the classroom.

Understand Diverse Community Perspectives
Our caring community is committed to our children’s success, though views on achieving it vary widely. I have learned to seek a fact-based understanding, listen to parents’ perspectives, and set the best course.

build trusted governance among the board
Research and my experience clearly indicate the direct connection between a trusted, high-functioning, and consistent board and positive student outcomes and achievement.

Outstanding Teachers, Staff, Leadership
We are blessed with exceptional educators. We compete in a dynamic marketplace for talent. A marketplace context is critical when recruiting and retaining talent.

Aligned Strategy, and Actions Impact Outcomes
Vision 2026, annual work plans, board reports, and dashboard metrics are the cornerstone of our district’s commitment to accountability, transparency, and exceptional student outcomes.

Complex Linkage Between Costs and Expectations
Our strategies and work balance cost per student and high community expectations while addressing the complex needs of our students. Simple, cost-saving ideas are not always sufficient to drive improvement without compromising outcomes.
